Tena: Patient flow, clinical records, laboratory, pharmacy and billing for health facilities, in one system that runs without the internet.
A staff-only management system for clinics and hospitals: patient registration, queues and appointments, consultation and nursing notes, laboratory orders and results, pharmacy and stock, billing, insurance claims, procurement, staff rosters and reports, with role-based access and an audit trail. It installs on a single computer with its own built-in database, so a clinic can run it with no server and no internet connection; a server edition serves networked facilities. Tena is in development: every module has a first working version, and it is not yet certified or in daily use at a facility.

What Tena does.
- Patient flow: check-in, department queues with daily tickets, priorities, transfers between departments and live wait times
- Clinical workspace: vital signs with out-of-range flags, consultation and nursing notes that cannot be edited once signed, diagnoses, allergies with prescribing warnings and printable prescriptions
- Laboratory: test catalog with reference ranges, orders from the consultation, sample tracking, result entry with automatic flags, verification by a second person and critical-value alerts
- Pharmacy and inventory: formulary, batches with expiry dates, an append-only stock ledger, first-expiry-first-out dispensing, low-stock and expiry alerts
- Billing and insurance: charges collected on one visit bill, numbered invoices, payments by cash, mobile money, bank transfer or card terminal with receipts and refunds, cashier shift summary, insurer and community-insurance claims
- Patient registry with fast search by name in Latin or Geʼez script, record number, phone or ID, duplicate detection and document uploads
- Appointments by day and week with double-booking prevention; procurement with second-person approval; staff directory and duty roster; 17 operational, clinical and financial reports with export and print
- Role-based access with 63 permissions and custom roles, sign-in lockout and session rules, and an append-only audit trail with field-level change history
- Desktop edition for Windows, Linux and macOS with a built-in database and automatic updates, a server edition for networked facilities, and a system-owner console for organizations, modules, backups and restore
- Built for Ethiopia: Birr amounts, the Ethiopian calendar alongside the Gregorian one, local phone formats, regions and woredas, and an Amharic interface framework
